Round Gas Fire Tables

Round gas fire tables from The Outdoor Plus, Fire by Design and LuxCraft. A round fire table brings everyone to the same distance from the flame and gives a generous ring of tabletop for drinks, plates and conversation. Browse steel, copper, Corten and concrete designs in chat, dining and bar heights, offered for natural gas or liquid propane.

Why Choose a Round Fire Table?

A round table has no head and no corners, so seating can wrap all the way around it. That makes round fire tables a natural fit for conversation areas, curved seating and smaller patios where every guest wants a spot near the fire. The flame sits in the center and radiates evenly, and the surrounding tabletop works like a coffee table or dining table at the same time.

Round tables also soften a space. On a square terrace or next to straight-lined furniture, a round fire table adds contrast and draws the eye without feeling heavy.

Designs in This Collection

  • The Outdoor Plus – the Coastline, Beverly and Mabel round fire tables, offered in finishes such as powder coat, stainless steel, Corten steel and hammered copper, depending on the series. The Coastline comes in 16" and 24" heights and 48" and 60" diameters.
  • Fire by Design – round fire pit tables including the Manhattan Cylinder, Legacy Round, Round Geo Essex, Belize Round and Round Oblique GFRC designs, offered in a wide choice of colors.
  • LuxCraft – the Lumin Fire Table 60 Round, offered in dining, counter and bar heights.

Choosing the Right Size

Measure the space and plan for chairs on every side, plus room to pull chairs out and walk around. A larger diameter gives more tabletop and a bigger flame, while a smaller table keeps the group close and suits balconies and courtyards where gas fire features are allowed. Each product page lists the dimensions and burning area published by the manufacturer.

Choosing the Right Height

Height is the biggest decision with a fire table, because it decides which furniture goes with it. Most fire tables in our range are coffee-table or chat height, which pairs with lounge chairs, deep seating and outdoor sofas. Taller dining, counter and bar height tables pair with dining chairs and bar stools, so guests can eat and drink around the flame. Some tables are offered in more than one height. Check the height in the dimensions on each product page and measure the seat height of your furniture before you order.

Materials and Finishes

Powder coat offers a wide range of colors with a durable baked-on finish. Stainless steel stays bright and modern. Corten steel develops a protective rust-colored patina, and hammered copper brings warmth and texture. Concrete and GFRC designs give a solid, architectural look and come in a range of colors to match your paving or stone.

Plan the Gas Supply First

Every gas fire feature has a BTU rating that tells you how much gas the burner needs to reach its full flame. Pipe diameter, the length of the run from the meter or tank, and the number of fittings all affect how much gas reaches the burner, and an undersized line is the most common reason a fire feature never reaches its full flame height. Share the BTU rating listed on the product page with your gas professional so they can confirm the line size before installation.

Choosing an Ignition System

Many products in this collection are offered with a choice of ignition. Match lit systems are the simplest and need no electricity. Flame sense systems add a safety valve that shuts off the gas if the flame goes out, and spark ignition lets you light the fire with a push of a button. Electronic ignition lets you control the fire from a switch, timer or home automation system. The available options vary by manufacturer and are listed on each product page.

Natural Gas or Propane

Choose the fuel before you order. Natural gas and liquid propane versions are built with different components and are not interchangeable. Natural gas suits permanent installations close to an existing gas line, while propane runs from a tank and works where there is no gas line. Our Natural Gas vs. Propane guide explains the differences in more detail.

Ventilation and Drainage

Any enclosed gas fire feature needs ventilation so gas cannot collect inside the base. Propane is heavier than air and settles low; natural gas is lighter than air and rises. Follow the vent requirements in the manufacturer's installation instructions and your local code. Rainwater also filters down through the fire media, so make sure there is a path for water to drain away from the burner and gas components.

Finishing With Fire Glass or Lava Rock

Fire media hides the burner, spreads the flame and gives the fire feature its finished look. Fire glass adds color and sparkle, while lava rock gives a natural, rustic look. Cover the burner evenly at the depth recommended in the installation instructions. Shop our fire glass and lava rock, and protect your fire feature between uses with a fire pit cover.

Professional Installation

All gas fire features must be installed by a qualified, locally licensed gas professional, following the manufacturer's installation instructions and your local building codes. Keep the clearances to combustible materials listed in the instructions, and do not place a gas fire feature under an awning, pergola or other overhead structure.
